Our History
Copyright 2010 Joblink Network
The Joblink Network was formed in September 2008 as a result of the closing of the Buena Vista Virginia Employment Commission\Workforce Center.  Area FBCO's (Faith Based & Community Organizations)  held multiple meetings to assess & identify the needs of our community as a result of the VEC office closing & established a SHARE Network.

The SHARE Network concept was launched in 2005 by DOL as a result of President Bush's
Faith-Based and Community Initiative of 2001.  The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has developed strategies that enable the One-Stop Workforce System to partner with faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) to help struggling job seekers.

SHARE stands for Sharing How Access to Resources Empowers.  It is a unique resource to help job seekers (customers) become self-sufficient.  It is a network like no other.  It brings together…
     * Workforce Development Partners
     * Faith-Based Organizations
     * Community Organizations
     * Businesses
     * Government Agencies

SHARE Network services are available @ a SNAP  (Share Network Access Point).  This is a faith-based or community organization where people can go in their own neighborhoods or communities to look for jobs, assisted by trained volunteers who connect them to the One-Stop System via computer or direct referrals.

Our SHARE Network is known locally as the
Joblink Network, Career Cafe' is the primary SNAP (SHARE Network Access point) in Rockbridge County.
